The New Yorker On Jeopardy
The New Yorker‘s 100th Anniversary Celebration extended this week to the television gameshow Jeopardy!, where editor David Remnick served up the answers that included an Addams family character. Maira Kalman and Rick Meyerowitz’s December 10, 2001 “New Yorkistan” cover was featured along with New Yorker contributors, Pauline Kael, Truman Capote, and John Updike.

A History Of New Yorker Art At The Society Of Illustrators
I loved seeing this Eustace Tilley placard drawing for last night’s event at The Society of Illustrators. A fun evening in conversation with my colleague, Liza Donnelly, talking about The New Yorker‘s art and artists over the past one hundred years.
It was also a blast revisiting the exhibit, Drawn From The New Yorker: A Centennial Celebration, curated by Ms. Donnelly.
Was pleased to finally meet the wonderful artist, Liniers, who has his own special connection to Eustace Tilley. The artist supplied this cover for the magazine’s 2016 Anniversary issue:
Yay! 100yrs. I’ve been your publication reading and loving you 2/3rds of of that.
Super Yay! Jill Lepore, I’ve been desperately missing far too long.
Yay! Roz, a week without you seems an eternity.
Many more kudos, but there’s something blessed in brevity.
